In this context it fits well with the passage of GR 56 Tour de l'Ubaye and its variant GR 56B in addition to local routes such as access to the Col de Terres Blanches, the Lac de l'Aupillon or links between hameaux. Rather than operating as an isolated destination, this free shelter is better understood as an intermediate reference to organize a long day, divide a journey or adjust the effort before winning hills and cords of the area. The direction of the land and the succession of basins make it useful to be clear from which side it is reached and to which to continue.

Access moves in a prealpine and alpine mountain environment, with sufficient relief for altitude and weather to influence the march. Although there are several itineraries around, it is not appropriate to interpret this network as synonymous with ease: according to the chosen route, the terrain may require continuity, map reading and time change margin. The proximity of summits over 2,500 and 2,900 metres reinforces this more open and exposed nature of transition between the valley and the ground.

In the logistics part, there are invented sources in the environment, but the nearest ones are just over 2 kilometers away, so it is not wise to have immediate water next to the cabin. For a journey through this sector of Provence-Alpes- Costa Azul it is appropriate to propose basic autonomy, to review the itinerary in advance and to consider the cabane as a simple support within an area where the management of access and resources weighs almost as much as the distance.
