Between Wisenberg and the surrounding flows

The next elevations mark well the character of this area of Basilea- countryside . Modest summits like Wisenberg , Homberg Flue or Sissacher Flue do not refer to an alpine environment, but to a wavy relief, with hillside changes and orientation that influence the march and the reading of the ground. In that context, Unterstand Weielegrabe , within the term of Gelterkinden and at about 610 meters of altitude, it fits as a support coat on a day through the mountains and forests of the Sissach district.

More than a destination in itself, this free shelter makes sense as an intermediate reference to move between small heights, crest and empty of the region. The altitude is not high, but the ground can force short rises and decreases to chain, with sections where the orientation changes often when moving from one side to another. This is why access should be made with a clear idea of the itinerary, especially if it is intended to link several high points of the environment or to extend the exit beyond the immediate valley.
