Environment and guidance

The shelter is at the end of Cusy , next to the sentier des Renards and in the area of Les Plattets-Est, within Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes. The nearby relief links forest slopes, rounded dorsal and steps that communicate the Chéran basin with the surroundings of Lake Annecy. This context explains its logistical interest: it allows to move between sectors without having to go down to inhabited cores in every change of valley.

In the surroundings there are elevations such as the Pic de Bange or Crêt de la Dolca , useful to understand the character of the land, although it is not appropriate to interpret the place as a high-mountain pyrenian shelter or as a basis for long alpine ascension.
