Cabanes du Col de Beyrède fits better as a point of passage than as a destination in itself. Its location, in the surroundings of Beyrède-Jumet-Camous and on the senier of the montagne, places it in a range of medium-high mountain where a day can change quickly with fog, wind or rain. At 1,420 meters, it is not in an extreme environment, but it is high enough to require reading of time and manoeuvre.
