Its location, in the surroundings of Fontrabiouse and on the Corriol to the Puig del Pla de Bernat, places it in a mountain strip where the tours are not simply a walk and where an intermediate coat can serve to start a long stage or adjust a journey according to weather.
Cabane Jaça de Llosa It is about 1700 meters, in the historic region of Capdar, within the French Eastern Pyrenees. This context places it in a transition area between forests, open lomas and more mineral reliefs as it gains height. It is not far from the mountain axis which form summits such as the Pic de la Tribuna , Pic de Mortiers , Puig de Terlers or Petit Péric , names that help to understand the character of the land: wide mountain, with cords and hills that can extend the days much even if they do not look great distances on the map.
Because of its position, it can be more useful for hiking experience than for those looking for a short tour with close services. It also makes sense as a point of passage to reorganize a route if you enter or leave from the environment of Fontrabiouse or Formiguères, two clear geographical references within the Capcir. The main function here is not so much the stay and continuity of the itinerary: to rest, to divide the route and to retake the march to nearby hills or summits.
The logistics should be planned with margin. The registered sources appear several kilometres away, none particularly close, so it is not wise to have immediate water in the shelter environment. In such an area, autonomy weighs more than in shelters near inhabited valleys: sufficient water, adequate shelter for time changes and basic navigation if conditions worsen or low visibility.
For those who travel this sector of Caprir, Cabane Jaça de Llosa it is better understood as a discreet support within a journey than as a destination in itself, especially on itineraries where it is necessary to share effort between several days and to keep room for the exhibition of the Pyrenian mountain.
