Mountain refuge Cabane du Pla Del Termenal

In a day of liaison for the Alta Cerdaña, the Cabane du Pla Del Termenal appears as an intermediate support rather than a destiny in itself. At 1,775 metres, in the surroundings of Bolquère and Pyrénées 2000, it is located in a soft mountain strip in appearance but very exposed to the changes of time and to the accumulated tiredness when the valleys, loops and high slopes are chained. Its position in Occitania, within the sector of Font-Romeo and Bolquère, makes it useful for anyone who crosses this eastern part of the Pyrenees or needs a reasonable withdrawal point before losing height to more inhabited areas. The nearby relief, with references such as Roc de la Calma, Pic de la Calma or Pic dels Moros, helps to understand the character of the place: open mountain, with wide orientation, where wind and visibility can condition much more than technical difficulty.

That step function fits well with journey routes like the HRP , which goes through this sector in several stages, and also with long-developed trails Chemin Vauban o Les Balcons de la Têt. It is not appropriate to interpret it as a basis for demanding alpine ascension, but it is a practical reference for dividing routes, reorganizing a stage, or looking for an exit to lower levels if the weather gets worse. In the vicinity there is a source at about 1.3 km, an assumed distance under normal conditions but that does not guarantee comfort or effective availability, so it is still wise to plan the day with water autonomy. In this part of the Eastern Pyrenees, where the paths may seem short on the map and may be extended by exposure, residual snow or wind, it is important to manage the effort from the beginning and not to depend on finding additional support outside of what has already been planned.
