Mountain refuge Cabane d'Ardinet

Cabane d'Ardinet at 1,570 metres in the environment of Lees- Ahas , is located in a pirenian transition area between high pastures, limestone slopes and increasingly mineral reliefs as you gain height towards the massif of Larra-Belagua. It is a very interesting place for those looking for a half-mountain shelter with a clear Alpine vocation, since from here the landscape opens to summits of great personality like the Pic d'Anie visible on a nearby radio, and towards the powerful border line where it stands out Hiru Erregeen Mahaia .

The approach is moved on classical mountain terrain, without urban environment or excessively domesticated tracks, so it is necessary to have a habit of walking on an irregular path and managing well the accumulated gap. The cabana works especially well as a support point for linking short and circular routes, such as the Tour du Poey asp27 2,6 km or Tour des Anaques asp40 3.5 km, but also to propose longer days for the Chemin de Pirait asp41 or Chemin d'Aulet asp28 , already with a more mountainous and cross-sectional character.

As a base camp, it allows to think of exits towards the next peaks and peaks: Pic d'Anie is only 2.71 km in a straight line, while Murlong / Muruluze , Arlas or Le Dec de Lhures they complete a range of very attractive objectives for strong and mountain trails used to orientation in open terrain. The closeness of Hiru Erregeen Mahaia , just over 5 km away, it strengthens its strategic interest in exploring one of the most emblematic areas of the Western Pyrenees.

In the logistics part, the environment has relatively close water points, with a fountain located at about 830 meters, something valuable in a mountain where heat, wind or fog can quickly change the day. Even so, in dry or out-of-season periods it is appropriate to secure water before leaving and not to entrust all planning to a single uptake. The atmosphere here is rather quiet, ideal for those who prefer a separate shelter from which to move with autonomy on a varied network of roads.
