Mountain refuge Cabane Arrodets

Cabane Arrodits at 1380 meters on the edge of Bagnères-de-Bigorre , is located in a pirenees sector of medium and high mountain very close to the massif of the Pic de Montaigu . The environment combines herbous, clear slopes of forest and increasingly open terrain as you gain height, with a feeling of serious but still accessible mountain for those looking for an intermediate base before entering into more alpine heights.

Its position is particularly interesting as a support point for moving between the valley and the nearby cords. From here, the dominant reference is its own Pic de Montaigu (2339 m), very close in mountain line, next to tops as Pic de l'Oussouet , La Peyre or, on longer routes, Pic de Bizourtère and Pic de Barran . This makes the cabin a good base camp to channel ascendations or to set up days of crest and journey in the sector.

The approach is well integrated into a diverse network of trails. The area is marked as the Chemin du Piémont Pyrénéen and local routes of the type Bouchle Juncalas-Ourdis or Bouchle des Sick and links to Lac de Peyrelade and Cabane de Conques . This suggests a terrain with options for both day hiking and linked routes, with levels that can be quickly hardened by leaving the most comfortable roads and heading towards the summits.

In logistics key, it is appropriate not to be trusted with water: the invented sources appear quite far away, more than 7 km away, so it is recommended to go up with sufficient provision or previously secure where to replenish.
