The ascent from the town of Babia Tower towards the glacier circus that houses the Laguna de las Verdes the Cabin in the Majada Las Verdes as a reference point in the progression through this Latvian valley. The itinerary, which follows the traces of the Route of the Vaňe of the , allows to gain height in a sustained way between pastures and limestone outings characteristic of the western mountain. Its location is key to those planning promotions to summits of relevance to the environment, such as Peña Orniz which exceeds two thousand metres of altitude, or the silhouette of The Evil One . The relief here is marked, with a terrain that demands attention in the orientation when the cloud descends on the cords that separate Leon from Asturias.

Logistics and technical environment

Located at a height of 1618 meters, this construction offers a basic guard in a mountain area exposed to sudden weather changes. For those who travel sections of the Royal Walk of the Bureau or GR 101 the building serves as a visual milestone before reaching the area of the glacier lagoon. It is essential to bear in mind that the nearest water sources are located more than two kilometres away, so water autonomy must be ensured before leaving the bottom of the valley. The absence of managed services requires the mountaineers to carry all necessary equipment for the night or rest, always considering the relative isolation of the mallad from the nearest population centres.
