There are other more remote water points, although they already lose immediate practical interest. The sensible thing is not to have instant supply next to the cabin and to leave with sufficient water, especially in long stages or with heat.

This shelter should also be read in relative isolation. It is not in a large glacier circus even at the foot of three thousand, but it also does not work as a simple short walk coat: the presence of long-distance routes integrates it into a quiet mountain transit area, where general orientation is usually based on forest roads and tracks, although weather or fatigue can change the perception of the land much.

For those who travel this part of the Picaussel massif, the cabin makes more sense as a functional guard and a point of continuity between stages than as a center of ascension. Before leaving, it is appropriate to check the actual state of the itinerary and not to take for granted water or close support outside the inhabited cores of the sector.
